The truck-maker is keen to penetrate the Saudi market where industrial development is going on at a brisk pace
Famco, an importer and distributor of Iveco trucks among other commercial, construction and industrial equipment, held events in three Saudi cities to present the full ranges of Iveco and its Astra brand.
UAE-based Famco, the short form of Al Futtaim Auto & Machinery Company, represents more than 30 leading industrial brands in six sectors, namely trucks and buses, construction equipment, power generation, industrial equipment, marine engines and storage and handling solutions.
The first of the events was held in Dammam, followed by ones in Jeddah and Riyadh. For Famco, which signed the partnership agreement with Italy-based Iveco in 2013, the events constituted a major marketing push for the vehicle-maker’s offerings.
The two brands presented their offerings and the latest innovations, stretching from light to extra heavy, to more than 650 industry professionals from across the kingdom who represented government entities, construction firms, quarries, transport operators and other operations.
“We are confident that the addition of Iveco and Astra to our products’ portfolio will provide significant value to our customer-base across the kingdom,” remarked Alexander Bell, regional general manager for the Truck and Bus division, Famco Group.
“The future will witness considerable growth for Famco in Saudi Arabia and accordingly we will constantly strive to deliver best-in-class customer service to our clients,” he added.
Pierre Lahutte, Iveco brand president, said: “We are sure that with Famco we will substantially improve the level of service to our customers in Saudi Arabia.”
The Iveco and Astra brands build off-road trucks, rigid and articulated dumpers and special vehicles.
Heavy range products make up Iveco’s core business in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
